Have you ever wondered what other Latter-Day Saints think about topics in the Ensign? Are you curious what this "Mormon Magazine" is all about? Come on in and learn and share!
Temple attendance has been particularly difficult for me to fit in as a mom of 4 young children. In the past year talks regarding temple attendance have really struck home with me. The talks have created a yerning within me to feel close to my Heavenly Father in the Temple.
I love the calm and peacful feeling I get when I walk into the temple. I love how close to heaven I feel when I am in there. I love knowing that everyone is there for the same purpose, to get closer to God. I recently went to a sealing of a close friend and her husband. It was a beautiful experience to see these two and their families united in purpose. As they knelt at the alter wonderful blessing were given. The thought occured to me "I need to be here with my husband more often, remembering the blessings that we were promised".
I am so in love with my husband and I am so lucky to be sealed to h im for time and all eternity. It brings me comfort beyond measure to know that our children are sealed to us. I know that we have to do our part to remain faithful but in the end the blessings will be far worth the effort.
Temples Rock! I just watched my DVR recording of the Ukraine Temple. Since I served in Slovenia for my mission in 1997-98, I love the Slavic people and wanted a temple in that area. The Kiev Temple is far from Slovenia, and the Freiburg temple might still be closer, but I was amazed at how many saints live in the Ukraine temple district.
When I was serving in Slovenia, I was praying one night and the thought came to me that the Lord should build little mini temples around the world. To do the saving ordinances it wouldn't take up that much space; at least it wouldn't take up as much space as a regular sized temple.
Within months of that thought in prayer, President Hinckley announced more temples and the introduction of mini temples. I was astounded! I think I just had a glimpse into the Holy Spirit's super-information-highway and connected with it. It was awesome!
Later, I lived in Minnesota and got to go to the St. Paul mini-temple. It was very tiny, but exactly what I thought the Slovene people needed! :)
