Sacrament Meeting and the Sacrament, Elder Dallin H. Oaks
This talk was outstanding. I love the way Elder Oaks is bold and is not afraid to say what needs to be said. By far one of my favorites of this particular Conference.
I really like this one as well. The part that stood out to me was when he said
"We are seated well before the meeting begins. “During that quiet interval, prelude music is subdued. This is not a time for conversation or transmission of messages but a period of prayerful meditation as leaders and members prepare spiritually for the sacrament”
It brought a new light to being early so that you can prepare yourself spiritually and being reverant so that others can too.
Since I am the ward music chairman and the choir director, I think his section about music was probably my favorite. I agree with you about the reverance of arriving early. In my sister's ward, there is a family who refuses to discuss things with others in the chapel. They always ask them to step out in the hall. Think of how that attitude would change our chapel reverence! I like your blog idea. It's a great one.
